“As the Learner Development Worker at Anniesland College, my job is to help develop and sustain a pro active Students’ Union, and encourage and support a strong Learner Voice. I am also here to develop clubs and activities which will engage and motivate students and to create and sustain partnerships to enrich students learning and experiences on every level. As a student at Anniesland College you will have the opportunity to be a class representative which is a great way to be heard as you will be the link between the students and staff. All registered college students can apply to be a member of the Students’ Union. The Students’ Union organises many activities throughout the year, including Guitar lessons, Football tournaments and various clubs.
The Students’ Union also provides a channel of communication between the students, staff and outside bodies. Affiliation to the NUS entitles students to substantial discounts on many goods and services offered nationally.
The Students’ Union will help you to make the most of your time at College. Look out for emails from me and check the plasma screens and intranet regularly to find out what is going on in the college and how you can get involved!”
