Anniesland College attends Worldskills London 2011

Staff and Students from Art, Social Care, Engineering and Computing enjoyed a visit to the Worldskills event in London on 6th October. Young people from 51 countries/regions were competing to be the best of the best in their chosen skill. More than 200,000 people from the UK visited and were inspired by the dedication of the teams taking part in the Competition.

Visitors were able to Have a Go at hundreds of new skills, meet top employers and get specialist careers advice to help make that important next step.

The event took place from 5-8 October at the Excel centre in London. The college was proud to have two Showcases selected to be displayed at the event. 6 items of art work were on show in the Worldskills art gallery for the duration of the event and received good feedback.  A film taken from the annual dance performance was played on the performance stage screens on the first day of the event, and was watched by many people.
