The Library provides a wide range of facilities for students and staff of the College, including:
For further information about our services, please see the links to the left.
The Library will stay open throughout the summer holidays.
Our opening hours will be 9:30am-4:30pm on weekdays. The college is closed for local holidays on Friday 12th July and Monday 15th July.
The NLS has an excellent range of electronic resources, all of which are free to the public (some will require registration, but this is fast and free of charge). We have produced an information guide that you can pick up in print from the Library's information stand, or download from our VLE page.
A new section has been added to the Library's VLE page. The Information Stand contains printable versions of Library leaflets, including information about renewing your books, using electronic resources, borrowing entitlements and so on.
The Study Tools section contains guides to referencing, study and exam tips, information about plagiarism and the use of language for assignments, as well as tips for writing personal statements.
Log in to the VLE using your network username and password. You will need to have logged in at college at least once before it will work from home. Use the navigation bar at the left side of the page to find the section you need.
Please note that you will need the Adobe PDF Reader to view or save these documents.
We've created a step-by-step guide to show you how to renew your checked out items, or to place a hold on something that is already out on loan to someone else.
For staff, the login details are slightly different - please contact us to obtain your PIN.
Business@The Mitchell is a collection of business-related electronic resources that can be used by students as well as those working in the field. Many of the databases are available online, though some require a visit to a public library. Resource titles include Credo Reference, Key Note, Factiva, Mint UK and Global, Proquest Central, Which?, British Standards Online and more.
Please ask at the Library for further information. If you don't have a public library card login, you can use ours.
Anniesland College students now have access to a new online resource for the driving theory test.
You can create a personalised account at Theory Test Pro that lets you track your progress and pick up where you left off each time you use it.
Registration is quick and easy, but please get in touch if you're having any problems.
The Library is committed to increasing the availability of electronic resources and will be buying more books in the electronic (online) format. My iLibrary is an addition to our existing collection of e-books on ebrary - you'll find it in your list of Athens resources. Please read this page for more information about Athens registration and electronic resources.
