Library Fines

As a Library user, you agree to pay fines and related costs if any item is returned to the Library after the due date stamped inside.

  • Fines accrue at a rate of £0.20 per item per day.
  • You will not be able to borrow anything else until your fines have been paid.
  • If you want to renew a late item, you will not be able to do this until any fines have been paid
  • A charge will be made for any item that is lost by the borrower or returned in a damaged condition. This will usually be the replacement cost.
  • Please notify Library staff if you change address.

Renewing your items

It is possible to borrow a book or DVD for longer by renewing it, as long as the item has not been requested by another user. You can renew in the following ways (your student ID number is required):
