How to Apply

Step 1 – Find out what you need to study in the UK

As an international student you need to apply for a student visa under Tier 4 of the Points Based System. Visit www.ukvisas.gov.uk and www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk to find out more.

Step 2 – Choose what course you want to study

Once you know which course you would like to study, print off and complete the International Application Form and return it to the International Office, or apply online by going to Courses, and selecting the course you would like to study.

You can email a scanned copy of your application to internationaloffice@anniesland.ac.uk.

You must send copies of your qualifications, translated into English, with your application.  If you apply online your application cannot be processed fully until we have received copies of your qualifications.

All applications must be accompanied by an IELTS Certificate (or equivalent).

If you are applying to join an ESOL programme you will be re-assessed on your level of English after your arrival.

Please check the UKBA website for the latest information about the minimum level of qualification you need before you can study in the UK.

Step 3 - Offer

We will advise you if your application has been successful or not.

You must then advise us if you accept our offer of a place.

If your application has been successful, and you accept our offer of a place, we will provide you with the college bank details and ask you to send us the full fee.

Step 4 - Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS)

Once we have received the fee we will send you a CAS Statement, containing your unique CAS number, which you will need in order to apply for a visa.  Visit www.ukvisas.gov.uk for more information.

Step 5 - Visa

Once you confirm that you accept our offer of a place, we will send you an arrival pack with more information. You must tell us if you have been granted a visa immediately.

If you do not get a visa and cannot take up your place you must tell us why your visa has been refused, and provide evidence of this.  We will refund your fee, less an administrative fee of £200.  Please note that if fraudulent information or forged documents are found to have been used in an application then no refund will be given.

If you do not take up your place for other reasons, the college reserves the right to retain the deposit.

You must tell us when we can expect you to arrive in Glasgow and we will meet you at the airport. We can arrange temporary accommodation for your arrival.

Step 6 - Enrol and Begin Your Studies

You will have an induction to Anniesland College and life in the UK, enrol on your chosen course and begin your studies.
