Medical Administration (NC)

This course is designed for those who wish to take up a career as a Receptionist / Administrator in a General Medical Practice or in a Hospital. The course is particularly suitable for those wishing to return to the job market with the attendance pattern of the course designed to be ‘family-friendly’.  This course incorporates a PDA Medical Receptionist Award.

This is a part time course. Attendance will be under16 hours over 2.5 or 3 days.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.

All applicants will be invited to attend an informal interview.

Duration

18 week course August to December and then a second course commences January to June (subject to demand)

  • Producing Text from Recorded Material (Medical)
  • Telephone Communication Skills
  • Word Processing: Medical
  • Work Experience in a General Medical Practice or Hospital

Articulation

Students completing this course may progress to HNC Medical Secretarial which incorporates the PDA in Medical Administration or to HNC Administration and Information Technology.
