Computing: Interactive Media (HNC)

This course is designed to develop experience and skills in creative interactive media with an emphasis on web design & development, animation and audio & video editing. Students will aim to produce a portfolio of work to represent their design and development skills.

Entry requirements

  • Two relevant Highers, or an appropriate NC or equivalent.
  • Portfolio and sample work may be submitted in support of applications.
  • Mature students may be admitted without formal qualifications.
  • All applicants will be invited to attend an informal interview.

1 Year Full time August to June

  • 2D Animation
  • Digital Imaging: Bitmap & Vector
  • User Interface Design
  • Web Development Essential Content with JavaScript
  • Client Side Scripting for Web Applications using CS5
  • Interactive Media: Planning
  • Interactive Media: Authoring with ActionScript
  • Multimedia Computing: Audio & Video  
  • Working within a Project Team with Web Development
  • Interactive Media: Graded Unit 1

Articulation

Successful students may progress to HND level or to the second year of a variety of Degree programmes within the University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow Caledonian University
