Social Care (HNC)
This course is designed to enable students to acquire and apply in the workplace an understanding of the structure and context of social care provision and the influence of organisational factors upon service delivery.
Entry requirements
- NC Health and Social Care, SGA Intermediate 2 Care, or other relevant SGA programmes.
- Two Highers or equivalent, one of which must be English, and an interview.
- Mature students may be admitted without formal qualifications
- Candidates must have at least 120 hours of social care practice experience.
- PVG Disclosure is essential as work experience opportunities are part of the course. Anniesland College will pay for this.

1 Year Full time August to June

Further Study
Previous students have progressed to a variety of universities for a Degree in Social Work including: Glasgow Caledonian University, University of the West of Scotland and Glasgow School of Social Work. Possible other routes into Social Science Degrees and Occupational Therapy qualifications exist.
Careers
This qualification is necessary for candidates wishing to work in all areas of Social care and to meet the registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council.
