Academic facilities

The Library

Library services are available at both the Balshagray and Hatfield Campus.

The Library is

  • A source of books, journals, CDs, DVDs, cassettes and newspapers to consult or borrow.
  • A suite of PCs (60 at Hatfield and 17 at Balshagray) with wireless internet access, printers, scanners and photocopiers.
  • A great place to study.
  • A location to get access equipment including CD, Video and DVD players. A satellite system is also available which provides access to programmes from around the world.
  • The place to find out about flexible learning courses.
  • For all students and staff of Anniesland College;full time, part time, evening or day release.

You will find the Library on the ground floor of the Hatfield Campus and on the ground floor of the Balshagray Campus.

All you need to borrow or book any of the resources is your student ID card. Staff at both sites can help you find and use the plentiful resources available to support your study.

Specialist Teaching Accommodation

We have specialist teaching accommodation for all courses

  • Computer suites running industry standard software including: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and SAGE Accounts
  • Workshops for Building, Fabrication, Welding, Motor Vehicle Engineering, CNC, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
  • Studios for Dance and Personal Fitness.

We have invested in our staff so that highly trained teams of specialists can help you to acquire the skills you need.

During your time at College you will be required to study outwith College hours to ensure success in your course and to undertake project work which will provide you with opportunities to tackle typical commercial, business and industrial situations in an educational environment.

Recreational Facilities

The Balshagray Campus houses our multi-gym which is open free of charge to all students at lunchtime.

Students' Association

All registered students at the College are eligible to apply for membership of the Students' Association. The Association provides opportunities for recreational, intellectual and social activities.

The Association also provides a channel of communication between the Students, Staff and outside bodies. Affiliation to the NUS entitles students to substantial discounts on many goods and services offered nationally
